Charge is seeking a driven, critical thinker who has strong relationship management with a strong understanding of the Procurement field.

Reporting Structure:

The role of procurement manager reports to the Director of Corporate Services

  • Leadership of the procurement team, to clearly communicate the requirements, scope, schedule and budget of the day-to-day activities.
  • Manage and direct employees involved in the buying actions of the company for equipment and all other goods or services.
  • Negotiate contracts, policies, pricing, schedules, and deadlines with suppliers, vendors, and prime contractors.
  • Manages and maintains a procurement budget of approx. $25 million.
  • Maintains a constant drive to achieve the best possible vendors with the most reasonable price for the value sought.
  • Prepares specialized and/or non-routine response for proposals, bids, and contract modifications.
  • Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.
  • Select transportation methods to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution.
  • Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet safety, quality and delivery requirements including prequalification requirements for ISN and Gold Shovel.
  • Implement and integrate ISN subcontractor oversight with Operations personnel
  • Performs in a cross-functional role for other business elements, e.g. finance, operations.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing and budget levels.
  • Have mentoring and training responsibilities.
  • Lead complex negotiations.
  • Maintain level of rapport with employees, vendors, finance department, and operations.
  • Personal development of self and reporting positions providing career development and training opportunities for staff
  • Drives implementation of strategic sourcing and procurement opportunities with the most significant impact to the corporation
  • Support Director, Corporate Services as needed for special projects
  • Support Transformation Management Office (TMO) initiatives
  • Previous working experience as a Procurement Manager
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business Administration, Logistics, or similar relevant fields
  • Solid knowledge of supplier or third-party management software
  • In-depth knowledge of contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms
  • Superb customer service, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to foster strong supplier relationships
